Obama's Heart Of Darkness

Surveillance policy of Bush 42 “puts forward a false choice btw the liberties we cherish & the security we provide.” B. Obama 2007  -  as tweeted by Bill Gross (bond king of Pimco)
Everything belonged to him--but that was a trifle. The thing was to know what he belonged to, how many powers of darkness claimed him for their own. That was the reflection that made you creepy all over. It was impossible--it was not good for one either--trying to imagine. He had taken a high seat amongst the devils of the land--I mean literally. You can't understand."  - Joseph Conrad, "Heart of Darkness"
Before I get to Obama's surveillance program, I wanted to let all you remaining Obama sympathizers and Obama-care advocates see some hard facts about just how much this abortion of a law is going to cost many in this country.  Several States have already indicated huge rate insurance rate increases, especially for individuals who have to buy their own, but here's the latest State filing from Ohio:  Sky-high insurance rates.  As you can see - if you bother to examine the facts as they stand, something which almost every Obama supporter refuses to do, insurance premiums for individuals in Ohio will go up around 88%.   Thanks Barack!

Anyone who is indifferent to, or supports, this massive Government surveillance operation is either a complete idiot or is giving the Government a green light to do ANYTHING with YOUR life.

How quickly the moronic masses and the media - and even a "distinguished" University of Chicago law professor forget:   Here is the FOURTH AMENDMENT to the BILL OF RIGHTS - number four of the first 10 Amendments of the Constitution:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Read and re-read that.  I just read an editorial from the Huffington Post in which Geoffrey Stone, some distinguished law professor at the University of Chicago is calling Edward Snowden a "criminal."  Fuck you Stone and take your traitorous opinion and shove it up your ass.

Make no mistake about it:  Edward Snowden is this era's Patrick Henry - "Give me liberty of give me death."   Re-read that quote at the top from Obama's campaign in 2007.  Obama is the criminal, as is every single person connected to this widespread, all-encompassing surveillance program which Edward Snowden has risked his life to reveal.  Thank you Mr. Snowden.

Here's a quote from Snowden's interview with the Guardian UK that everyone needs to read:
"The NSA has built an infrastructure that allows it to intercept almost everything. With this capability, the vast majority of human communications are automatically ingested without targeting. If I wanted to see your emails or your wife's phone, all I have to do is use intercepts. I can get your emails, passwords, phone records, credit cards.

"I don't want to live in a society that does these sort of things … I do not want to live in a world where everything I do and say is recorded. That is not something I am willing to support or live under."
Here's the full interview:  LINK   Here's a useful commentary from England's Telegraph UK, for those of you who seem to have forgotten how sacred our original Bill of Rights were intended to be:  LINK

I vividly remember the Watergate scandal, which posed a grave danger to our Constitution, and how impassioned that the entire country was in getting the truth out and having Rule of  Law imposed on the guilty.  I remember how horrified most people were and how interested they were in getting the truth out.  Nixon should have burned at the stake, but instead was let off easy and thus opened up the gate to the slippery slope that has destroyed the Governmental system that was handed to us by the Founding Fathers.

Quite frankly, maybe in another era Obama would be run out of office.  What makes him worse than Nixon or Bush 42 is that Obama lied to everyone about his motives and his game plan.  Instead of rescinding all the Constitutional violations implemented by Bush, as he promised in every speech I heard him make including one in person, Obama has been instrumental in implementing a full-blown police-State - one that is being executed and enforced silently via the internet and cell phones, using the most sophisticated technology available.  And it's not like it's doing any good.  This system couldn't prevent two miscreants in Boston from deploying and detonating a crude bomb PLUS it took a big military force and the shutting down of nearly an entire city in order to find a weaponless kid hiding in the hull of a boat, huddled in near-death, in someone's backyard.  How's it working for you, Barack?

I know some of you get it - and that's why Orwell's "1984" has become one of the fastest selling books on Amazon.com:  LINK

As I've written before, back in 2002 an old colleague and I both felt that eventually we would see things happen in this country that would truly blow our mind.  I'm not sure I can imagine anything more horrifying than what Obama's Government is doing to our freedom and way of life as he leads our nation down a fatalistic path and into a heart of darkness...

    1. The 8 Million number is what keeps coming up. Its a self-confirming linguistic stat that gets more "truth power" as it is repeated. 8 million smart, active people are a lot to incarcerate. Its a very large force. I'm agnostic on the number and the "lists."

I am in awe of the success that the Ministers of Propaganda have done on the American people. The ministers of propaganda in our school systems and our Federal agencies have created a "government" that the masses visualize as separate and above "the people." The average American burger biters accept that there is a government with its own powers and rights. This is the way we have been undone. The consumer class does not understand that they are the government. We are done.

  8. What A Complete Farce

I have watched the news intently over the last 2 days. I switched between all of the farcical news channels to hear what the spin would be, I watched from Fox (supposedly conservative) to MSNBC (supposedly literates) and everything in between. I cannot believe what I am hearing. I can’t even believe that this is real. Questions from the “experts” such as “Is Edward Snowden a hero or a traitor?” or “Should he be prosecuted?” As an American citizen who believes in The Constitution I have my own opinion as you can well guess. Please remember that only 2 weeks ago we found out that the IRS was auditing conservative groups, reporters were being eavesdropped on and the public was blatantly lied to regarding the slaughter of U.S. citizens in Benghazi. I guess those scandals have already been swept under the rug and buried.

Hero or traitor? Did Snowden abrogate The Constitution? The Bill of Rights? Was he even in a position where he “swore” with his hand on The Bible to “protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies whether foreign or domestic?” Probably not. The POLITICIANS who are so up in arms about this “traitor” have ALL BEEN SWORN IN and promised to protect the Constitution. This kid does not appear to be a lunatic or an idiot; he appears to simply be a patriotic American who happens to have a conscience. Did he make any money doing this? Did he further his career? Did he make his life easier in any way? No, he made the hard choice. He may end up in jail, exiled forever, silenced or even go “missing” but he did what he believed in and what he believed this country was founded on. Freedom, Liberty and Justice.

  12. I am not an American, I live in SE Asia and am used to living under non-democratic rule with weak / non-existent personal protection laws. And yet, if something affected people's lives directly, people take to the streets and fight the police. The incidents coming to light in the US, all the way from the Patriot Act, the Wall St bailouts to the latest revelations about NSA surveillance, would surely have incited a few riots and mass demonstrations in my country. I am surprised that there is not even a peep from any American. Why are there no marches, street demonstrations, slogans, mass movement? I think that just writing about it on blogs, forums, comments, venting their feelings is enough to dilute the anger so that nobody wants to take to the streets for this. Edward Snowden has done his part. But it looks like nobody is going to stand up in support of him. Amazing.

  15. Dave,
Thank you for speaking out. I read Boehner is also calling Snowden a "traitor". Is it not quite amazing how the Big Govt guys stick together. I, myself, am horrified, saddened and scared for all of us. Even if we protect ourselves with gold, the overall "safety" issues will be most concerning. I lived 8 miles outside DC in 1968 when the city was burning. My dad had put a shotgun in his trunk to go to and from work in DC. I know we like to comfort ourselves in anticipating a breakdown. In reality if it does come as I anticipate, it will be very, very scary as well. But as most things in life, courage beats cowardice tenfold.

    thanks Dave

  16. Insurers Inflating Books, New York Regulator Says

These complex private deals allow the companies to describe themselves as richer and stronger than they otherwise could in their communications with regulators, stockholders, the ratings agencies and customers, who often rely on ratings to buy insurance.

Benjamin M. Lawsky, New York’s superintendent of financial services, said that life insurers based in New York had alone burnished their books by $48 billion, using what he called “shadow insurance,” according to an investigation conducted by his department. He issued a report about the investigation late Tuesday.

The transactions are so opaque that Mr. Lawsky said it took his team of investigators nearly a year to follow the paper trail, even though they had the power to subpoena documents.

Insurance is regulated by the states, and Mr. Lawsky said his investigators found that life insurers in New York were seeking out states with looser regulations and setting up shell companies there for the deals. They then used those states’ tight secrecy laws to avoid scrutiny by the New York State regulators.

  18. What Is the Government’s Agenda?

There is no longer any doubt whatsoever that the US government is lawless, that it regards the US Constitution as a scrap of paper, that it does not believe Americans have any rights other than those that the government tolerates at any point in time, and that the government has no fear of being held accountable by the weak and castrated US Congress, the sycophantic federal courts, a controlled media, and an insouciant public.

Binney and Snowden have described in precisely accurate detail the extreme danger from the government’s surveillance of the population. No one is exempt, not the Director of the CIA, US Army Generals, Senators and Representatives, not even the president himself.

Anyone with access to a computer and the Internet can find interviews with Binney and Snowden and become acquainted with why you do have very much indeed to fear whether or not you are doing anything wrong.

James Clapper, the lying Director of National Intelligence, who would have been perfectly at home in the Hitler or Stalin regimes, condemned Snowden as “reprehensible” for insisting that in a democracy the public should know what the government is doing. Clapper insisted that secretly spying on every ordinary American was essential in order to “protect our nation.”

Clapper is “offended” that Americans now know that the NSA is spying on the ordinary life of every American. Clapper wants Snowden to be severely punished for his “reckless disclosure” that the US government is totally violating the privacy that the US Constitution guarantees to every US citizen.

President Obama, allegedly educated in constitutional law, justified Clapper’s program of spying on every communication of every American citizen as a necessary violation of Americans’ civil liberties that “protects your civil liberties.” Contrast the lack of veracity of the President of the United States with the truthfulness of Snowden, who correctly stated that the NSA spying is an “existential threat to democracy.”

The presstitutes are busy at work defending Clapper and Obama. On June 9, CNN rolled out former CIA case officer Bob Baer to implant into the public’s mind that Snowden, far from trying to preserve US civil liberties, might be a Chinese spy and that Snowden’s revelations might be indicative of a Chinese espionage case.

Demonization is the US government’s technique for discrediting Bradley Manning for complying with the US Military Code and reporting war crimes and for persecuting Julian Assage of Wikileaks for reporting leaked information about the US government’s crimes. Demonization and false charges will be the government’s weapon against Snowden.

  19. Hey Dave, sorry to throw the topic in a way different direction, but I'm worried about what would happen if comex defaults and we are holding junior mining stocks?

I've heard some say it would go to zero, and a few say that the public would jump all over it in a heart beat and junior mines would even go more parabolic than holding the physical

    1. What idiot thinks juniors will go to zero if the Comex defaults? If the Comex defaults, the price of gold will double very quickly, if not overnight, and the value of any company that has even decent drill samples and nothing more will do a moonshot.

Look at the late 1970's. A lot of junior stocks that had nothing went from the 3 cents to $1 The solid, real juniors went from 30 cents to $10-15.

      Delete
    2. So there is no point in analyzing junior stocks because the gold price floats all the boats and companies without assets do as well as companies with assets without the rights issue risk? Go for pure crap.

      3c's to $1 = 333.3%
      30c's to $10 = 333.3%

Or indeed you could follow Rick Rule's latest advice and invest 50% of your assets in gold and the rest in a put option on the senior gold producers?

  21. I have recently talked to some who are a part of the 51% who work for a living and are well-off and they could care less about anything but their job and their retirement and taking several vacations a year. They tell me, "if you're so upset about this, do something about it". I tell the, "I am - I'm telling you so you can tell others". They reply, "I could care less". I reply, "you will when Cyprus comes to town".

They tell me, "There's too much joy in the world to be negative like you". Hmmm...you mean telling them "the Federal Reserve Board is printing billions of dollars PER DAY and, historically, this always leads to disaster" is being negative? "That the Federal Reserve Has Destroyed More Than 96% Of The Value Of The U.S. Dollar" is being negative? "That the Artificial Economic Bubbles they have created are Extremely Damaging when they pop" is being negative? "That Cyprus opens a whole new chapter for every Nation on the planet and it could happen here" is negative? "That the US has so much debt that it can't get rid of that it could implode its economy and send us tailspinning down" is negative? "That all your wealth could be gone tommorrow" is being negative? Is there such a thing as "negative truth"?

They are content with their workacholic lifestyle where they have no time for the news and are only interested in their wealth and personal activities. But I tell them their pension is at risk cause its based on the stock market which the FEDS QE program is propping up (They heard of QE but that's about it). They tell you that "No! It's Guarenteed! I got to pick the companies invested in myself!" I say, "It's a 401K retirement where you got to pick from a "list" of whether to go "safe" or "agressive" on your portfolio and then it goes into those companies on that "list" but it is depended on the stock market's ups-and-downs and it can can be wiped out in an instance. No Gurantees!" They don't believe it. What's happening with Obama and the NSA doesn't affect them as well - it's just another day. They can't fix the problem so "oh well...".

There's bright people in this country that are in the 51% group. Their attitude is simple "I don't know and I don't care" and they're even conservatives. They could care less about being informed. So they have decided to go back to "sheeple" and get back to their life. (And I thought the other side on welfare was tough!)

  23. Dave, off the topic. Next week we shall have another FOMC meeting. Do you think the following scenario is possible? The Fed announces it will taper to control inflation expectation but doesn't actually do the tapering in practice. In other words, the Fed says tapering and does something else. The goal of QE is to finance the budget deficit. If the Fed does not taper in practice, the announcement of tapering may have no material impact on the treasury yields.

  24. Obamacare? We were just leaving …

Dozens of lawmakers and aides are so afraid that their health insurance premiums will skyrocket next year thanks to Obamacare that they are thinking about retiring early or just quitting.

The fear: Government-subsidized premiums will disappear at the end of the year under a provision in the health care law that nudges aides and lawmakers onto the government health care exchanges, which could make their benefits exorbitantly expensive.

The book follows the failed attempt by a young couple to rebel against policies of omnipresent surveillance and public mind control by a charismatic leader named “Big Brother” in the futuristic American empire named Oceania. There was a scramble in Hollywood for the movie rights to adapt the book into a scathing rejection of the U.S. military-intelligence-complex. But the rights were sold in March to a group of President Obama strongest supporters; including Shepard Fairey (artist who created the Obama “Hope” poster), and movie moguls Brian Grazer and Ron Howard.

Hope you are doing well. Obama, Big Banks, are now enforcing policies which will lead to massive civil unrest. I hope and pray the COT reports indicates next week that JPM is almost gone!!! These guys are sick!! They are in Obammy's pocket. We need to destroy the Banks since they are destroying us. How to accomplish that? Interest rates would go along way. But more importantly taking away their Cash deposits would help. We need to spread the news like Jim S. is to take cash out of all the big banks!! Eliminate their Balance Sheets would increase the odd of them being more exposed, drive rates higher, and destroy what is destroying us. Thanks Dave. We want you back.
