You CAN'T Be Serious About Michele Bachmann

The media is all over the fact that Bachmann won the Ames, Iowa Straw Poll yesterday, edging out Ron Paul by a mere 152 votes.  It would have been surprising if she didn't win this podunk political version of a bingo game given that Bachmann is an Iowa native.  Even more telling, Bachmann handed out 6,000 $30 Straw Poll tickets, representing roughly 38% of the meager 16,000 votes cast.  This hollow event is likely an indication of the number of people in Ames that are bored of watching the corn grow rather than a serious barometer of the true percent of the population who would actually vote for Bachmann.

The truth of the matter is that Bachmann has a background and an IQ that is suited quite well to be a teacher of special education students.  Her "J.D." law degree is from the former Christian law school at Oral Roberts University, which eventually lost its accreditation from the American Bar Association and had to close in 1986.  It generously donated its law library material to the Pat Robertson University.  While at ORU, Bachmann worked as a research assistant to help a "professor" there publish a book which argues that the United States was founded as a Christian theocracy and should be become one again.

Given this academic/intellectual basis for Bachmann's political beliefs, it's hard to take her seriously when she claims to support a Government based on the Constitution.  Her entire political and educational indoctrination completely demolishes the primary Constitutional principle requiring the unmitigated separation of Church and State.  I highly doubt that she is intelligent enough to understand this incongruity in her political platform as do I highly doubt that she knows what "incongruous" even means.  In short, her political beliefs are just as empty and absurd as her law degree.

I mentioned on Wednesday that I probably wouldn't post anything until Tuesday unless I saw something that pissed me off.  Well, I happened to see part of an interview of Bachmann by David Gregory on NBC this morning.  He was directly and pointedly attempting to get her to answer a blunt question about her position on homosexuality.   Bachmann uncomfortably managed to avoid giving a direct answer, but it was quite apparent what those beliefs are when she stated that she believed that "marriage is between a man and a woman."  She twice completely avoided a direct question as to whether or not she would appoint a gay or lesbian person to her Administration. Gregory loses my respect for not demanding a direct answer on the question.  The failure to hold politicians accountable is a major problem in our system and is one of the reasons our system is collapsing.  Contrary to her claim, Bachmann's political postions in truth substantially deviates from her claims of supporting civil liberties and the restoration of the Bill of Rights.

Quite frankly, I hope Bachmann becomes little more than an irritation after a couple of primaries.  The interview with Gregory reminded me a little of the Katie Couric interview of Sarah Palin, in which Palin pretty much sunk the McCain campaign.  I'm still waiting to see video footage of Putin sticking his head over the State of Alaska.  In fact, I might go as far as to say that Bachmann is really nothing more than Sarah Palin without the hunting rifle and camo clothing...

Please watch, listen and learn about what Ron Paul has to say and WHY he says what he says.

  1. This was going through my mind all night...the media went from Bachmann to Perry...ignoring Paul completely as if he came in last. That little gravy train they're riding will come off the rails if he wins.

The Media Admits To Ignoring Ron Paul

Why? Because if "the unelectable one" were to become president, the financial kleptocratic, oligarchic status quo, which just so happens is the big legacy media's biggest advertising base, would be wiped out overnight. Next up: big media becomes very small media. The clip below from CNN explains it all.

  2. Couldn't agree more.
But I could dig a Palin-Bachmann threesome. Maybe I'm sick.

  3. Ron Paul is my first choice, but why people rip on candidates that didn't go to Yale or Harvard or Oxford, I'll never understand. I'd rather have a candidate that uses common sense instead of thinking the way a lawyer does. Besides, it's not like it would be just her, just like it wouldn't just be Ron Paul. Anyone think Bachmann couldn't do a better job than Obama??

  4. Scary as it may sound, Obama vs Bachmann could definitely be in our future. She's a full fledge Zionist and he's, well, he does what he's told. Win/win for the Cartel either way.

The masses aren't ready for reality yet. The Consciousness isn't quite there. Paul is still way over the heads of most mentally disturbed Americans. I fear for Paul's life.

Besides, the balloting system has long been rigged.

  5. Jim Rogers Supports Ron Paul

Ron Paul is the “only one I’ve seen in American politics that seems to have a clue”, Mr. Rogers said. “A pox on both their houses, the Democrats and Republicans … However, in this election if Ron Paul gets anywhere close to a nomination, I will certainly support him.”

  6. Bachmann is, indeed, a benighted moron. That people of her stupefyingly low calibre are even considered for the office of the POTUS is profoundly disturbing. But then our political system, certainly at the Federal level, is, in the main, a toxic cauldron of cowardice, corruption and rank stupidity.

  7. Well put, Dave. For the life of me I cannot understand why so many idiots think so much of Palin and Bachmann. Kinda reminds me of the movie "Idiocracy".

The mainstream media also have much to answer for in this regard. On ABC national news this evening, they talked about Bachmann's win without mentioning Ron Paul. They also fawned over the idea of Rick Perry being a viable candidate! This country is in a hopeless negative spiral at the rate things are going.

  9. I don't know if anyone noticed Mark Faber say that often when the price of gold rises and the stockmarket falls insiders are reacting to information that only comes out 2 or 3 months later. Like an event is happening which they are aware off and the rest of the world isn't yet. One such event he mentioned as an explanation for the recent rise in gold was a war in the Middle East. Well there are these stories to consider:

For the first time in the five-month anti-Assad uprising, Syrian armored forces clashed with dissident Palestinians Sunday, Aug. 14, in the al-Raml a-Filistini district of Latakia, challenged by Palestinian heavy machine guns, anti-tank RPGs and roadside bombs. Nineteen of the 24 dead were Palestinians.

NATO and the Turkish high command are meanwhile drawing up plans for their first military step in Syria, which is to send protest centers anti-tank and anti-air rockets, mortars and heavy machine guns.

As an another escalation we read on Islamist.com that: Taliban get Anti Helicopter Missiles. Nato Loses 6 helos in 15 days Only admits 2....But history reminds that during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in the 1980s, it was the surface-to-air Stinger missiles supplied by the US to anti-Soviet fighters and fired at Russian choppers that finally crippled the Red Army here.

And as a further escalation Iraq's Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi says a continued US military presence in the country is “a problem, not a solution,” he has also recommended buying Russian and Chinese kit instead of US as it cheaper and better.

  11. Dave, nice to see a straight-forward analysis of Bachmann. She leaves much to be desired.

Nice to see your links to Ron Paul's campaign. I will look for you at the State GOP convention! Go delegates for Ron Paul!

    Best regards!

  12. So let me get this right, you don't like heterosexual female Christian conservatives because they don't go to the right schools and refuse to support your obsession with appointing gays or lesbians to cabinet level positions solely on the basis of them being gay or lesbian? WTF? Since when did a person's sexual preference become a professional credential? And if you were truly advocating that a candidate should not discriminate on the basis of sexual preference, isn’t your obsession with nominating a cabinet level position solely on that basis kind of hypocritical?

I'm very much a fan of Ron Paul, and would love to see him get the nomination. I think the guy is brilliant. But I would support Bachman or Palin or Peewee freakin' Herman before I would vote for Obama or ANY Democrat again.

And what's with the low blow reference to the special ed students and Bachman's credentials? I get that you don't like her, but why make it personal? And why would you insinuate that 'special ed students' are somehow not worthy of the best education they can get if you truly think her an idiot? I'm thinking you're not really being true to the beliefs you claim to embrace, and that you should reconsider your positions. Or, you're frauds.

Care to clarify that for me? If so, please note that I, too, didn't go to the right schools and, as bad luck would have it, am also a heterosexual Christian conservative. So I would appreciate it if you would use a minimum of syllables and use really easy words for me to understand because I was also a 'special ed student'.

  13. Off topic -
Friends of mine know Gregory and say he is a major league A**hole. They have some incredible stories.

Also, to show how complicit everything is in DC in looting and destroying while keeping the sheeple entertained, Gregory's wife was (maybe still is) I think the top lawyer (or top contract lawyer) for Fannie Mae. Can't make this up....

Love the blog, Dave. Perhaps the best thinking website out there.

  14. (Dave)

Ya I knew some of that about Gregory and I don't like the guy and I think he's a sleazebag and his wife can drop dead. But he did press Bachmann more than Couric would have, although it still wasn't enough.

This country is doomed. It CAN and will happen here. The patriotic red white and blue bullshit is just that - bullshit. The fuckers promote that crap just like religious zealots promote religion. I saw a TON of it this weekend and people gobble it up like like carmel corn and will keep gobbling it up until their money in the bank is worth zero and their houses are being looted my tweakers.

The best move is to get out here but I don't think it will be any better elsewhere. I plan on living it up for as long as I can and then go down fighting when they come to take my gold and the last sliver of any freedom we have left.

  17. The US Constitution was based on what the Founding Fathers believed to be God's Natural Laws. This includes the freedom to reject God and live apart...thus the separation of Church and State.

We are a Christian nation. This is inescapable. If we refuse to live as Christian people should, this nation will fall. This is also inescapable.

David Gregory is a MSM tool. Anyone who demands an answer to a PC question about would you appoint a gay or lesbian - the correct answer is your personal sexuality is none of anyone's business and if you insist your personal sexual preferences be broadcast so everyone knows and has to accept it - proves where your priorities are and that you are not fit for the job.

  18. This isn't a "Christian" nation and it wasn't founded on the idea of God. Most of the founding fathers were ultimately Deists. Look that up so you know what a Deist is and of what "faith" most of the founders had.

This country was founded on the basis that everyone has the freedom to pursue whatever faith-based beliefs they choose or they may choose none at all.

How are "Christians" supposed to live? Hitler was a Christian. Is that the way we should live?

  19. If ron paul is a libertarian how is it that he can be against an abortion when a woman is raped?..isnt that a personal choice? I believe in human embryonic research..does his view on abortion infringe on this research? What I don't want is a religious loon in office again...is 8 months the same as 2 weeks? I like the guy but part on this issue as others do...

In A CNN Interview, Ron Paul Discusses The Media's Blackout Of His Presidential Candidacy, And Many Other Things

Paul's take: "they're afraid of me, they don't want my views out there, they're too dangerous, we want freedom and we're challenging the status quo, we want to end the war, we want a gold standard, and their view is that people just can't handle all this freedom, they want dependency, they want socialism and welfarism, so I think they don't like to hear our views, but I think we'll make the best of it and we'll do very well."

I agree on the abortion part of Ron Paul's platform. He's definitely not a religious zealot. I wish he would leave his views on abortion out of his ideology.

Ultimately he falls back on the States' rights argument and that each State should decide what the law is rather than have a Constitutional amendment. I disagree with that view because I do believe there a very few social issues that need a Federal umbrella and abortion is one of them.

There will never be a perfect candidate and what I might view as perfect might not be perfect for others.
