Obama Pimps Out The Taxpayer As Goldman Urinates On The Law And Gets Away With It

The news hit 22 minutes after the stock market had closed, ironically on a day when the Senate passes the Financial Reform Bill (henceforth known on this blog as "The Farcical Retardation Bill").  The Obama Government settles a massive fraud case against Goldman, potentially worth billions in fines to the Taxpayer, for $550 million.  Hmmm...let's see...if I commit fraud and break several laws and make several billion dollars in the process, I guess paying $550 million in fines ex post facto is just part of the cost of doing business in the land of Obama.  Of course, CNBC was allowed to report the news first - News Link - and Goldman stock was up 4.6% in after hours trading.

Several years ago a colleague and I expressed to each other that the fraud and corruption in this country would eventually become so extreme and absurd that it would blow even our minds.  This is one of those events.  Setting aside pontificating about the horrifyingly benign deal that Obama gave Goldman, I would prefer to focus on Obama himself.  Where is the slick speechmaker who promised to clean up DC and Wall Street and return Rule of Law to the people?  To be quite frank, I believe at this point that ANYONE who fails to see how pathetically dishonest and incompetent Obama is as a President - of, by and for the People - is either a complete idiot or just refuses to look at the truth.  I mentioned to another colleague today that I have not seen a President in my lifetime as completely useless as Obama.  He makes W look a like a natural born leader - and this is coming from an observer - me - who started counting down the days until W was gone back in late 2000.

I believe this event can stand alone in underscoring the kind of cheap ghetto whore who now is sitting in the White House.  A man who promised to deliver morality, ethics, virtue and trust back into the cradle of our system.  Yet at every turn he takes our whole country deeper into the polluted swamp that belies the landfill upon which DC was built.  This sums it up the best:
In a moral society, these are the criminals, and the statutes are written to protect you against them.  But when a society establishes criminals-by-right and looters-by-law - men who use force to seize the wealth of the disarmed citizens - then money becomes its creators' avenger...When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewared and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know your society is doomed  (Atlas Shrugged).
With this Goldman settlement, Obama has allowed "criminals-by-right and looters-by-law" and our society is doomed. Of course, we should have never assumed anything to the contrary once he appointed a serial tax-cheater to be the man in charge of collecting tax revenues...

  1. Chump Change: and we are the Chumps.

Let's see: Goldman's worst day last quarter in it's prop trading segment earned 25 million. So worst case it's 5 weeks of earnings.

Chump Change: and it probably was structured to be tax deductible, deducted from retains earnings so its not a hit to P&L, and someone gets a huge bonus for job well done.

  2. As someone pointed out on another blog, (in our present corrupt system) BP ad GS aren't simply too big to fail, they are too big to even punish.

  5. Just seeing where GE had a great quarter with profits up significantly.

Also saw where GE revenues were down 2%.

Is this where the word "disconnect" comes into play?

  7. All together now, lets take the Jon Galt oath:

"I swear — by my life and my love of it — that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."

Then the reality kicks in that, in order to due your "duty" as an American citizen, you need to work between 5-7 months before anything you bring home is actually yours.

Went to the American Museum of Natural History last weekend and had some interesting insight into America outside of the obvious observation, that this country has been completely Pussyfied. First of all, Theodore Roosevelt was the shit; if he were around today he would probably take that big stick of his and beat the Sheriff of Rock Ridge silly with it. Second, five out of five Hot Dog vendors would not let O! run their stand; I asked. Third, there are a lot of ugly people in the world. And, last but not least, there are still people out there making stupid amounts of money and they don't seem too intelligent, actually I think some of the ones I ran into are clinically Brain Dead.

Sofa King hot today...got to go. Need to understand why it has taken two years to replace a highway pedestrian overpass, no longer than 40 feet long, when it took only 18 months to build the Empire State Building in the 1930's.

  8. These are the final days of American Empire.

    From Harry Schultz:

“Do your friends a favor,” he said. “Tell them to ‘batten down the hatches’ because there’s a hard rain coming. Tell them to get out of debt and sell anything they can sell (and don’t need) in order to get liquid.

Tell them that … by the end of this year they won’t recognize the country”

  10. Re: Harry Schultz advice

I've been warning about the hard times coming for years to friends and family. All it does is fall on deaf ears. The problem with sheeple is that they're mostly apathetic and don't want to hear anything that will disturb their universes. They have been programmed and locked in. Unfortunately, it will be far too late by the time they finally wake up from their miasma of iphones and starbucks.

  11. LOL. Been there done that myself. No one wants to believe or think it can happen here.

  12. Yes, Dave, the regulatory agencies are there to protect the industries in question from the farces of law and order. We live in a fascist nation following the Mussolini Business model. All that's lacking, for now, thankfully, is some sort of racist and/or nationalistic aspect.

  13. To get your points across, Dave, I don't think you need to refer to Obama as a "pimp" or "chief ape" as you've done in your blog posts. It just makes you sound openly racist, which diminishes whatever message you are trying to convey. Maybe you think it's funny or entertaining to talk about a president you hate in this manner, but it just makes you seem like a bit of a nut.

  14. Call 'em as I see 'em. Your view is a First Amendment Right as is mine. At least I honor the 1st Amendment, unlike like Mr. Barak Hussein.

  15. That's the great thing about the First Amendment. It allows people to express themselves in the most objectionable manner possible, and make utter fools of themselves. But it doesn't help advance an argument, in and of itself.

Reading your racist ad-hominems against Obama causes me to think less favorably about your bullish case for gold. If you feel the need to resort to such rhetoric, then how strong can the case for your overall world view be? In other words, you wouldn't have to use such language and images of pimps and apes if your case was more substantive. It takes away and distracts your readers from your central points.

But since I'm sure very few people read your blog, you probably don't care, and just enjoy your racist rhetoric as an exercise of your constitutional rights. Sad.

  16. The First Amendment is supposed to protect my rights to express myself freely without censorship from turd-brains like you who think you have a right to tell people how to live.

Your sanctimony belies serious fascism. I can see your shoulders are sagging from the weight of that totalitarian cross on your back.

I think you should sell your gold and load up on fiat currencies.

  17. I like the metals case you advance. Too bad you dilute that argument with ad-hominems and name-calling. Nothing "fascist" about someone calling you out on racist remarks in a blog. Nobody is telling you how to live, either.

    Get ahold of yourself, Okay?

    ReplyDelete
  18. You should get ahold of yourself. I'm not a bigot or racist - I hate everyone LOL. Obama is no better than a base animal. He's lying scumbag who has managed to betray just about every single campaign promise upon which he was elected. i could have called him any kind of animal and you would have levelled unfounded pejoratives at me. it just so happened that a particular zoo animal came to mind. Obama belongs behind bars as far as I'm concerned. 'Nuff said about all of this.
